Mission
What the society exists to do
The Malaysia Society of Interventional Pain Practitioners is a professional medical organisation dedicated to the advancement of interventional pain management in Malaysia. It was established in 2007 and is registered under the Malaysian Registrar of Societies.
Its mission is to promote the highest standards of interventional pain management practice, education, research and advocacy in Malaysia, and to provide a platform where practitioners can network, collaborate and share knowledge.
The society organises educational and training programmes, workshops, conferences and seminars for its members, and collaborates with local and international organisations to advance the field and improve patient care.
History
Founded by practitioners who needed somewhere to compare notes
MSIPP is a non-profit organisation founded by a group of interventional pain physicians who recognised the need for a forum to share knowledge, experience and best practice.
Since then the society has organised conferences, workshops and training programmes to keep healthcare professionals current with advances in the field, and has worked with other organisations to build wider understanding of interventional pain management.
Its vision is to be recognised as the leading authority on interventional pain management in Malaysia, through excellence in clinical practice, research, education and advocacy.

Activities
What the society does through the year
Members meet regularly, and the society’s teaching programme runs alongside its scientific meetings.
Conferences and workshops
Annual scientific meetings and international updates, including cadaveric and live-surgery workshops under ultrasound and fluoroscopic guidance.
Education and training
Structured programmes that build practical skill in interventional technique for specialists and allied healthcare professionals.
Research
Encouraging members to publish, present and collaborate on interventional pain research relevant to Malaysian practice.
Advocacy
Working with other organisations to raise understanding of interventional pain management and improve patient care.
